Following care should be taken while purchasing the diamonds/gems.
- Select reputable jeweller.
- Choose a diamond that carried a report (certificate) preferably of GIA (Gemological Institute of America) or AGS (American Gem Society) or IDI (Indian Diamond Institute) or certificate from reputable institutue of one's own country clearly mentioning the diamond’s Cut, Clarity, Colour and Carat weight.
- A certificate describes the quality of a diamond, but it does not place a monetary value on the diamond. An appraisal places a monetary value on your diamond, but does not certify the quality of the diamond.
- Make sure the quality, grade and value of the diamond are provided in a written format.
