Using Credit Cards Online

Online transactions are not new nowadays. However, following cares should be taken while using credit cards online.



  1. First, to use credit card online, it should be activated or registered through the credit card issuer.

  2. While making transactions, do not share your password, username, account number, security number etc with anybody that endangers your credit card security. It should not be disclosed to even bank personnel. Contact bank, if someone asks for these types of details.

  3. In fact, HSBC says that it never displays personal information in their e-mails, other than name of the holder, nor would it ever ask to confirm any personal data by replying to their e-mails or following an embedded hyperlink.

  4. Avoid online transactions/accessing your bank account via public computers eg cyber café. In such case confidential in formations can be copied and re-entered after you leave.
    HSBC uses their own Security device to safe guard the online transactions in addition to username and password.

  5. Use only legitimate website for correspondence. Choose their own website for correspondence, if provided by them, like HSBC. HSBC does not accept direct e-mail for security purpose. While some credit card companies accept, like ABN AMRO does.

  6. Update regularly, your operating system, browser, and antivirus software.

  7. It is possible that someone is gathering information from your computer without your consent.

  8. Use antispyware to protect this. It is also required that antispyware is updated on regular basis.

  9. Use a personal firewall and update it regularly to help protect your computer and its contents from outsiders sneaking in via the internet.

  10. Many websites provide the facility of logging in to your e-mail or other account through their own site. It is better not to trust them as you can be a victim of phishing.

“With effect from 07.01.2010, Sale of Frost Free Refrigerator, Air Conditioner, Tubular Fluorescent Lamp and Distribution Transformer will not be permissible without BEE Label. Minimum 1 Star Rating will be mandatory to sell the product”


BEE labeling is still in the voluntary phase for Direct Cool Refrigerators, Electric Motors & Pumps, Colour Televisions, LPG Stoves, Electric geysers and Ceiling Fans.

The world of advertisements

I have seen the following advertiements in the project work of my son, and find it interesting,the world of advertisements. I hope, one day , I can explore the world of advertisements.


In first photograph, WESTSIDE is the name of fashion Store by TATA enterprise, while in second photograph, Lifestaly is the name of another fashion store. These advertisements are of Big Bazar i.e. type of super market.
